Hasanamba Indoor Stadium : An indoor stadium measuring 100m x 40m has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 490 Lakhs at the Hassan District Sports Stadium.

This indoor stadium has been built to "INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS" & for the first time a heated swimming pool has been constructed inside the indoor stadium. This swimming pool has top international facilities like heated swimming pool water, LED lamps inside the pool & has a seating capacity of 500.

The spacious Indoor stadium has ample space for various indoor games like Basket Ball, Volleyball, Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess etc. For the first time, outside of Bangalore, such international level facilities have been created.

This indoor stadium has wooden flooring, & is completely covered on all sides by glass windows. This allows the players play till late evening without switching on the lights. This saves lot on current bill.

The roof :
The material used in the roof is an alloy of Iron and Aluminum. The total span of the roof is 100 meters by 31 Meters. This span is supported because of crimping of metallic sheets which are placed on the side beams. These sheets are rust proof and the company has given a guarantee of 20 years against rust and paint peel - off.  This huge roof was casted IN ONLY 15 DAYS ! a concrete roof of this size would take minimum 8 months time

DETAILED REPORT ON TECHNOLOGY COMPARISON OF LED LIGHTS V/S SODIUM LIGHT FOR INDOOR STADIUM :

For the very first time, the Hassan Indoor Stadium will be completely illuminated by LED lights . In the history of LED technology for the first time 50W single LED is used for illumination. The R&D on problem of "Heat" dissipation in such high voltage LED was done in Hassan only. We have successfully overcome heating of high voltage LED and are using it widely.  

Total Power Saving in 1 Year   = 264.37 Mw

SWIMMING POOL :

First of kind Swimming pool in the country designed to operate ONLY ON rainwater.

Yes ! What sets apart this unique indoor swimming pool from other pools around the country is that this state of the art indoor swimming pool will meet its entire demand for quality water by a functional, nnovative and patented first of its kind rain water harvesting system.

WATER REQUIREMENTS OF THE SWIMMING POOL:

• The filled capacity of the swimming pool is 8, 60,000 liters.
• For the back wash the requirement of fresh water is 12,000 liters, resulting in 48,000 liters of fresh water per month.
• So for the entire year the total requirement of quality water will be 5, 76,000 liters.

The swimming pool is fitted with OZONE water treatment plant.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE RAIN WATER HARVESTING SYSTEM :

• The state of the art rain water harvesting system is based on a uniquely designed and patented system, using the principle of cohesion and gravitation.
• By adopting this high energy efficient system, in view of the average Rainfall of 1000 mm at HASAN Town vicinity and the total roof area of 3000 meter square, the total available water will be  : -3000m2 x0.85x 0.90x 1000= (2295000 liters) 2295 kiloliters) .
• If maximum rainfall per day is 50 mm/day at 0.85 /0.90% efficiency of Filter ,the quantum of water will be 1,14,750 liters. The storage tank built to hold the filtered rainwater is 2,00,000 liters Plus 30,000 liters  as balancing tank since the water can be used every day and thus the tank will be ready for holding the water of the next rains.
• The storage and continuous input of filtered rainwater to the storage tank makes the Swimming pool self sufficient, without depending on corporation water. Since the water is surplus, it can be used for other usage like drinking* and toilets purpose.
• Rain water when properly harvested with rainy filters using cohesion technology and gravitational pull , not only prevents the overexploitation of ground water source but also saves huge quantity of Corporation water and precious energy units required to pump in water resulting in enormous savings in energy bills to the city corporation.
• Since the entire system used in capturing the rain water is through Gravitational means, it reduces the need for expensive electric motors/ diesel pump sets that run on NON RENEWABLE  fossil fuel.  These precious energy units which otherwise can be utilized for productive purposes.
• Rain water harvesting system leaves behind a positive ecological foot print.
• Reduces significant carbon foot prints by way of saving enormous energy resources used in the transportation of water to distant places.

The available water is not only sufficient for swimming pool purpose but also sufficient for drinking and toilet usage for the whole year.

HEATING OF THE SWIMMING POOL WATER :

The water inside the swimming pool heated with state of the art (Solar water heating system). This is the only PUBLIC swimming pool in India which has heated water. This water is heated by solar energy so the cost of heating is ZERO !.

The technology for heating is double layer vacuum tube technology. The water gets heated even if it is CLOUDY. The water gets heated even by ultra violet rays.

The heated water is stored in a separate tank. The moment water temperature falls below a certain temperature, the motors would automatically switch on so that hot water would start flowing inside the pool. This way a constant temperature is maintained inside the swimming pool water automatically.       

CONSTRUCTION :

The swimming pool at Hasanamba Indoor Swimming pool is of half Olympic size i.e 18 Mtrs x 25 Mtrs. The pool is built using shotcreating technology wherein M20 grade concrete is sprayed under high pressure using guniting machine & a 300 Cfm compressor. The concrete is sprayed on to the steel reinforcement in layers to attain the required thickness of concrete shell as per the structural design. Since this pool is supposed to be heated, it was covered on all side by "Refractory Bricks" to conserve the heat inside the pool only.  The concreted pool shell was later finished with sky blue and nautic blue ceramic tiles along with necessary lanes for competitions as per the international standards. The top level of the pool is finished with granite coping. The swimming pool is provided with a overflow deck drain system wherein water is "still" at brim of the pool.

FILTRATION SYSTEM :

The pool is equipped with a state of the art filtration system which are capable to keep the water crystal clear for years by maintaining proper water chemistry.  The filtration system  is selected and designed based on the parameters like total volume of water, turnover rate and filtration rate. The pool is provided with 3 sets of imported bobbin wound FRP filters of Dia 1200 mm dia which comprised a 6 way multiport valve with function like filter, drain, back wash, close, rinse and whirlpool.  The filters are connected to 3 Nos of 5 Hp pumps along with hair and lint strainer.  All the 3 filters, main drains, floor inlets, suction inlets are interconnected using PVC pipes of 10 kg/cm  pressure and sturdy butterfly valves.

FUNCTIONING OF SWIMMING POOL :

The swimming pool is designed with a concept known as overflow deck drain system where in a gutter is formed around the swimming pool during concreting which is in turn connected to a balancing tank of capacity 30,000 liters lying beneath the plant room. Once the pool and balancing tank are filled with water and the filtration system is switched on the working pumps will draw water from the balancing tank and pump them to the pool through the filters.  As the filtered water enters the pool through inlets provided on the floor the water level in the pool will increase and the water starts overflowing.  The overflowing water will flow to the balancing tank through the overflow gutter which is provided all around the pool. By operating system for 5 hours the complete pool water is circulated and filtered completely as a result it can have almost 5 turnover in the span of 24 hours. Once the filtration process is completed the pool water is free of dust and other suspended particles, dirt etc.

DISINFECTION OF POOL WATER USING OZONE GENERATING SYSTEM :

The pool is disinfected using Ozone gas which is produced at site using imported state of the art ozone Generator.Ozone O3 is an unstable gas as it is produced for commercial application and has a pungent characteristic odours. It is the most powerful oxidant used in swimming pool water treatment and has ability to destroy algae and bacteria, inactive viruses and to oxidize organic and inorganic contaminants which are present in water, aqueous solutions.  Thus ozonized water used for swimming pool treatment purpose can be reached without fear of having high concentrations of dissolved chemicals.

Using Ozone for disinfectioning gives more safety to swimmers against viruses, bacteria and other chemicals and it will cause no eye irritation which is common in swimming pools which use chlorine as disinfectioning system.

The gaseous ozone generator produces ozone by mimicking the action of lightening on oxygen found in our atmosphere. In nature, lightning produces ozone by cleaving oxygen molecules found in ambient air into oxygen atoms. These oxygen atoms react with oxygen molecules to form tri-atomic oxygen, also known as ozone.

This process is reproduced in our ozone generators. A high voltage power supply found inside the ozone generator provides the energy required to form electrical arcs, known as corona discharges, inside the patented corona cells. These corona discharges cleave the oxygen molecule into oxygen atoms which recombine to form ozone. This process is known as the "corona discharge method" of producing ozone.

BASKET BALL COURT :

The stadium has international quality basket ball court with wooden flooring. This will give the players and opportunity to practice under best conditions.
  
BADMINTON COURT - 3 NUMBERS :

The indoor stadium presently has 3 badminton & shuttle badminton courts & these courts too have wooden flooring. Competitions in Singles, Doubles, & Mixed doubles will be held here under various categories (children, youth, adults, veterans etc.) in both the boys & girls section.

TABLE TENNIS - 2 NUMBERS :

The indoor stadium presently has 2 table tennis tables & competition in Singles, Doubles, & Mixed doubles will be held here under various categories (children, youth, adults, veterans etc.) in both the boys & girls section.

SQUASH :

This state of the art squash court has wooden flooring and is covered on three sides by toughned glass. It allows the people to see the match from three sides.   

CARROM BOARDS - 3 NUMBERS   :

The staidum has international quality carrom board and related seating arrangements.

CHESS - 2 NUMBERS: 

International quality chess boards are placed with timers for players.  

WHY IT IS GREENEST STADIUM :

1. The roof is an alloy which has a life of 20 years against rust.
2. No wood is used in whole "structure" of stadium (accept flooring of the courts)
3. Windows cover a whopping 40% of the wall area, so that lot of natural light comes in.
4. For the first time 50 watts Single LEDs are used which save an energy upto 80% of conventional halogen lamp lighting system.
5. Swimming pool water is heated by solar energy (The conventional pools use either electricity or diesel).
6. It costed only 4.9 crore to build the whole stadium and all the facilities in it. Conventional stadiums have costed more than 10 crores with less facilities than this.
7. The stadium offers international level facilities to the public under one roof.
